LECTURE: Exploring Nature with Paper + Stitch

PAPERWORKS LECTURE:  This talk starts with a review of my stitched paper artwork, which I have been creating for over 25 years. I give examples of where I get inspiration, and what my process is like. I first print my paper using a monotype technique, then sew many layers of printed paper together with a sewing machine.

I then talk about how quilters can find inspiration in the world around us, and how my journey as a maker has taken me from gallery artist into the world of modern quilting. This lecture ties directly into my online workshop, Stitched Paper Collage. I am teaching this workshop virtually through Paperworks, following the lecture.

This lecture is hosted by the Paperworks in Tucson, AZ.
