LECTURE: Exploring Nature with Paper + Stitch
August 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm PDT
$10
PACIFIC NORTHWEST QUILT & FIBER ARTS MUSEUM LECTURE: This talk starts with a review of my stitched paper artwork, which I have been creating for over 20 years. I give examples of where I get inspiration, and what my process is like. I first print my paper using a monotype technique, then sew many layers of printed paper together with a sewing machine.
I then talk about how quilters can find inspiration in the world around us, and how my journey as a maker has taken me from gallery artist into the world of modern quilting. This lecture ties directly into my online workshops, Stitched Paper Collage and Modern Abstract Quilts.
This workshop is hosted by the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum and will be presented via Zoom.
