IN-PERSON LECTURE: Indigo Dyeing in Japan

MID-ATLANTIC QUILT FESTIVAL LECTURE:  In this talk, I explore how the love of Japanese culture, travel, textiles and “blue and white” came together in a fantastic journey to Japan. This is primarily a travel talk, with an emphasis on Japanese textiles, and a few brief forays into architecture and Japanese cuisine. I will show a quilt as well as paper-based stitched artwork that I created with shibori and indigo dye, and talk about how my particular modern design approach is influenced by Japan.

This lecture is hosted by Mancuso Show Management at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA.
