GUILD LECTURE: Exploring Nature with Paper + Stitch
September 11, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT

NEEDLECHASERS OF CHEVY CHASE LECTURE: This talk starts with a review of my stitched paper artwork, which I have been creating for over 20 years. I give examples of where I get inspiration, and what my process is like. I first print my paper using a monotype technique, then sew many layers of printed paper together with a sewing machine.
I then talk about how quilters can find inspiration in the world around us, and how my journey as a maker has taken me from gallery artist into the world of modern quilting. This lecture ties directly into my online workshop, Stitched Paper Collage.
This workshop is hosted by the NeedleChasers of Chevy Chase – NCCC.
