Hello, I’m David Owen Hastings.
In early June, my husband Brian died suddenly from a heart attack. It has been a life-changing loss, and as I find my way through this new chapter, I’ve made the difficult decision to retire from teaching.
I am no longer accepting new bookings for workshops, lectures, or other teaching engagements. I will honor all of my previously scheduled events through 2027, and then I will officially retire from teaching.
To everyone who has welcomed me into your guilds, conferences, quilt shops, and classrooms over the years—thank you. It has been a privilege to share ideas, creativity, and friendship with so many wonderful quilters around the world. Your support has meant more to me than you know.
While my teaching career is coming to a close, my love of quilting and making art continues. I’m grateful for all we’ve shared, and I look forward to this next chapter with appreciation for the journey that brought me here.
